Having been cultivated and not sourced from wild locations like most mosses eliminates any debris found within the moss and reduces the risk of transferring dangerous fungi and bacteria from natural populations of amphibians, reptiles or insects.

Kept in a well-lit and damp environment this moss will continue to thrive and grow. Alternatively it can be used as a safe medium in a moss box to help aid shedding, egg laying or thermo-regulating.
